Right next to the Emil-Hüüsli, the curtain rises on Emil’s stage world. Against the backdrop of a large red stage curtain, a faithful recreation of the cabaret artist’s legendary performances has been constructed. Numerous props lent by Emil Steinberger bring his most famous characters back to life.
Amongst the items on display are the legendary pram, the telephone from his sketches, his desk, his cap and pipe, the fireman’s helmet and the famous milk churn, all of which will be familiar to millions of viewers from Emil’s programmes. Also on display are his crime novel and numerous personal mementos. A compilation of popular Emil sketches rounds off the exhibition. The result is a miniature Emil museum that is as humorous as it is personal – almost like a glimpse behind the scenes.
