April 2025

For the first time, the annual meeting of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) took place outside North America. Following last year's event in Las Vegas, Europa-Park had the honour of hosting the industry summit for the first time. From 28 to 30 April 2025, experts from the global leisure industry gathered at Europa-Park. The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards were also presented during the event. Germany's largest theme park received three prestigious IAAPA Brass Ring Awards in its anniversary year.

• The company impresses with its modern onboarding concept centred around the MACK Academy and Welcome Centre 75. Frederik Mack, Director of HR, has played a key role in developing these processes.

Health and well-being

• The Feelgood Health Centre, founded by Miriam Mack, offers around 5,250 employees a wide range of preventive and health services. IAAPA recognised this exemplary commitment in this category with the award for the best Health and Wellness Programme.

November 2019

The Brass Ring Awards honour specific areas of the worldwide theme park industry every year and belong to the most renowned awards of the industry. At the award ceremony during the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando (Florida), Europa-Park has won awards in three categories:

Category: Most Creative Sports/Stunt Show

• The ice show 'Paddington on Ice - the Grande Voyage' amazed the jury and was awarded the 'Most Creative Sports/Stunt Show'.

Category: Best Employee Reward and Recognition Program

• The Europa-Park Academy received the 'Best Employee Reward and Recognition Program' Award, with their diverse variety of employee seminars and trainings.

Category: Live Entertainment Excellence Spirit Award

• The TALENT ACADEMY, founded by Katja Mack, was rewarded with the 'Live Entertainment Excellence Spirit Award'.

Since 1994, the Thea Award has been presented by the non-profit organisation 'Themed Entertainment Association' to honour outstanding achievements in development, concept and execution in theme parks. The Thea Award is considered one of the most significant awards in the entertainment industry.

2025 - Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement - Attraction

The rollercoaster innovation Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac impressed the international jury of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and was honoured for outstanding performance in the ‘Attraction’ category. 
What is particularly noteworthy here is that rollercoasters are rarely honoured with a TEA Thea Award. The prestigious award is one of the highest honours in the entertainment industry and was announced at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando, the world's largest trade fair for the leisure industry.

The jury was particularly impressed by the overall experience - from the storytelling and theming to the rollercoaster itself. It offers numerous innovative ride elements, such as the world's steepest launch at 105 degrees, as well as fascinating storytelling, creating a unique overall experience. The ‘Stryker Coaster’ was developed by MACK Rides.

2024 - Award for Eatrenalin

• Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has honoured the restaurant world-first Eatrenalin with the coveted TEA Thea Award in the ‘Experiential Dining Attraction’ category.

2023 - International honour for Roland Mack

• On 15.04.2023, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) awarded the popular 'Thea Award' to Roland Mack. The successful entrepreneur from Baden, Germany, is the first ever theme park owner to receive the 'Buzz Price Award' for his life's work as well as his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements and his engagement for the industry. The award was handed over during a gala event with more than 1,000 international guests in the Disney Hotel in Los Angeles. The Thea Awards have been given since 1994 and recognise people and companies for their outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.
  Roland Mack is the first European to be inducted into the 'IAAPA Hall of Fame' as well as receive the 'Buzz Price Award'.
• The Buzz Price Award is considered one of the industry's most prestigious lifetime achievement awards. This award recognises Roland Mack's lifetime of extraordinary creative and technical innovation. More information

2020 – Snorri Touren – Category: Outstanding Achievement - Attraction, Limited Budget

• The themed ride Snorri Touren in the Scandinavian themed area has received the prestigious 'TEA Award' in the category 'Outstanding achievement, attraction with limited budget'. The experts particularly praised the excellent further development of a classic family attraction in combination with state-of-the-art projection technology and also added: "The tight schedule for the construction of such a high-quality attraction deserves the highest recognition. To complete the building, theming and installation of the ride in just over a year is an amazing achievement."

2017 – ARTHUR – Category: Best Ride System

• The popular family attraction 'ARTHUR - In the Minimoys Kingdom' was received the prestigious THEA Award in the category 'Best Ride System', one of the highest accolades in the entertainment industry.

2013 – Category: Best Amusement Park Worldwide

• Both the loving design that goes into the fifteen European themed areas and the development of a popular short-haul destination prompted the TEA committee to honour the park for its outstanding achievements. The variety and attention to detail offered at Europa-Park is extraordinary, praises the TEA.

2012 – FoodLoop – Category: Restaurants

• In April 2012, the looping restaurant FoodLoop was awarded the Thea award in the Gastronomy category in Los Angeles . "At FoodLoop, your food has as much fun as you do" explained the jury of the 'Themed Entertainment Association'.

October 2024

For the eighth year in a row, the trade publication 'Parkscout Plus' voted Europa-Park as 'Europe's Best Theme Park'. Rulantica was also voted 'Europe's Best Water Park' for the fourth year in a row. The multi launch coaster Voltron Nevera - Powered by Rimac, which opened in April, was voted 'Europe's Best New Rollercoaster'.

As in the last two years, our other attractions also impressed the jury: For example, WODAN - Timbercoaster is once again 'Germany's Best Wooden Rollercoaster' and Eurosat - CanCan Coaster is once again 'Germany's Best Family Rollercoaster' at Europa-Park. The popular ride Pirates in Batavia is, as in 2022 and 2023, 'Europe's Best Dark Ride', closely followed by ARTHUR in second place in the same category. The Europa-Park hotels are also represented: The 4* superior themed hotels 'Bell Rock' and 'Colosseo' are again among the top 5 in the category 'Europe's Best Themed Hotels'.

Since 2017, 'Parkscout plus' has been awarding an annual editorial prize to recognise the achievements and innovations of the European theme park industry. The trade magazine is published quarterly and reports on leisure, animal and holiday parks as well as water parks. The publication focuses on interesting background information and interviews with decision-makers in the industry about current developments.

October 2024

Since 2001, the online magazine Parksmania.it has been awarding the internationally recognised 'Parksmania Awards' to European theme parks that have distinguished themselves through special initiatives in the theme park and entertainment sector.

As in 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016, Europa-Park will be honoured with the Parksmania Award as 'European Park of the Year'.

The multi launch coaster Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac, which opened in April, has been awarded this year's 'European Top New Attraction'. In 2021, the newly designed 'Pirates in Batavia' already enjoyed this title.

October 2024

Family Holidays with the Quality Seal! Europa-Park, the Rulantica water world and the six 4* themed hotels have been recognised in the state-wide competition 'familien-ferien' (family holidays). The competition is run by the Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg together with the German Hotel and Gastronomy Association (DEHOGA) Baden-Württemberg.

September 2024

At the awards of the British trade publication 'Park World', the best operators, suppliers, manufacturers and entertainment specialists from all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa are being distinguished.

Category: Best Large Theme Park

• Europa-Park has once more been awarded the title of Best International Large Theme Park.

September 2024

In Europe, the European Star Award is considered one of the most important honours for the continent's theme and water parks. The magazine Kirmes & Park Revue once again honoured Europa-Park as ‘Europe's best theme park’. The park has received this award repeatedly since 2013.
The breathtaking new Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac was also honoured as ‘Europe's best new rollercoaster’.

Europa-Park has also received awards in the following categories in recent years:

Category: Europe's Best Dark Ride

• In 2022 and 2023, the Voletarium won this award. In 2021, the Pirates of Batavia ride was among the top ten as ‘Europe's best dark ride’.

Category: Europe's Best Family Attraction

• ARTHUR managed to win 'Best Family Attraction' in Europe in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Category: Best new attraction

• In 2017, the Voletarium won 'Best New Attraction' in Europe.
   

August 2024

Between March and July 2024, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) conducted an online survey of more than 25,000 travellers from over 20 countries to determine the most popular attractions in Germany. The result: Europa-Park achieved an impressive 2nd place. Last year, our theme park made it to the top spot, making it the most popular attraction in Germany.

"We are very grateful that we are held in such high esteem by our visitors in Germany. It is a very big acknowledgement for us, for our attention to detail, for our quality, for innovation and for the high service we provide for our guests. It is the nicest thank you that we get back directly from our guests. Europa-Park as an economic factor reflects on the entire region and the whole of Baden-Württemberg," says Europa-Park owner Roland Mack.

Since 2012, visitors to the GNTB website have been able to name the tourist destinations they consider to be particularly worthy of recommendation. Only international visitors are included in the ranking. The nominations result in a ranking of the top 100.

May 2024

The travel experts at Travelcircus have once again voted Europa-Park into first place in the ranking of the best theme parks in Germany.

Overall, Europa-Park scored best of all German theme parks, once again proving its special quality and exceptional offer for visitors of all ages.

Germany's largest theme park also won awards in the categories ‘Top Instagram’, ‘Top Rollercoaster’, ‘Top Ratings’ and ‘Top Water Attractions’.

January 2024

Making that special feeling of the Europa-Park Resort and the anticipation of the coming season tangible in a creative way was the task of artists big and small who took part in the 'Art Contest', which was announced in January 2023. It finally culminated in the ART BOULEVARD in Europa-Park's 'blue fire Dome', where pieces of art were showcased for visitors. In January 2024, the extraordinary project was honoured at the German Design Award 2024 with the 'Winner' award for outstanding and exemplary design achievement in the category 'Excellent Communications Design- Integrated Campaigns and Advertising'.

November 2023

The Parkscout Audience Award, one of the most important awards in the German theme park industry, set another record this year: Over 60,000 participants cast their votes this year.

Category: Best Theme Park 2023

• Europa-Park once again impressed visitors and was able to secure the title of ‘Most Popular Theme Park’ for the second time in a row.

Category Best Value for Money 2023

• With numerous high-quality shows, a wide range of attractions and culinary delights, Europa-Park once again won the Best Value for Money category.

Category: Most Child-Friendly Park 2023

• Europa-Park has also a lot to offer for the smallest visitors and has therefore been voted the Most Child-Friendly Park again.

Category: Best Themed Ride 2023

• Europa-Park once again took first and second place in the 'Most popular themed ride' category with the attractions Pirates of Batavia and ARTHUR.

Category: Best gastronomy in a theme park 2023

• Europa-Park took second place this year for the most popular catering in a theme park. It also scored highly in this category last year.

Category: Best new attraction in a theme park 2023

• The 360° film adventure Nikola Tesla's Beautiful Croatia came third in this year's list of the most popular new attractions in a theme park. Europa-Park was already represented in this category last year, taking second place with Josefina's Imperial Magic Journey.

Category: 'Most popular rollercoaster 2023'

• In the category 'Most popular rollercoaster', the blue fire Megacoaster convinced the jury and secured third place. The rollercoaster had already been honoured in this category the year before. The Silver Star previously took third place.

Category: 'Most popular family rollercoaster 2023'

• The Eurosat - CanCan Coaster once again scored points in the 'Most popular family rollercoaster' category and was honoured with the third place.

Category: 'Most popular water attraction 2023'

• For the second time in a row, the popular Fjord Rafting and Atlantica SuperSplash secured second and third place in the 'Most popular water attraction' category.

Category: 'Most popular show in a theme park in 2023'

• Our captivating illusion show 'Secret' with Vincent Vignaud impressed visitors and was voted the most popular show in a theme park.

Europa-Park was named 'Customer's Favourite 2023' in the theme and amusement park category by German magazine 'Focus Money'. With the highest possible score of 100 points, the family-run company once again sets itself apart from all other German theme parks as the industry winner.

For the tenth time, DEUTSCHLAND TEST, together with the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF), has examined the popularity of around 20,000 brands and companies in more than 200 sectors in a wide-ranging study. With a fantastic 100 points, Europa-Park is the only theme park to receive a 'Gold' rating, once again showing that it is appreciated by its guests for its special quality and the exceptional range of attractions for visitors of all ages.

As the industry winner, the Europa-Park Resort can be proud of the rating 'Highest Appreciation'. This is the result of a broad-based study conducted by the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) on behalf of DEUTSCHLAND TEST and Focus Money.

The 20,000 largest companies and businesses in Germany were examined. With the highest score of 100 points, Germany's largest theme park is at the top and clearly sets itself apart from the industry competition.

Around ten million online assessments were collected in five subject areas that determine the reputation of a company: Management, sustainability, product and service, performance as an employer and profitability.

April and May 2023

The online platform Travelcircus has analysed 45 German theme and leisure parks and looked at different categories such as ‘value for money’ or ‘fun factor for all ages’.
The result: Europa-Park has scored 22.72 of 25 possible points and was awarded ‘Top Theme Park 2023’.

Europa-Park also came out on top in an international comparison. With 21.69 of 25 possible points, it was voted 1st place in the ranking of the best theme parks in Europe. For the analysis, the platform compared the 74 most popular theme parks in Europe and over 2,545 attractions.

In addition, Germany's largest theme park also secured awards in the categories 'Top Instagram', 'Top Rollercoaster', 'Top Reviews', 'Top Water Attraction' and 'Top Demand'.

This is the third time in a row that Germany's largest theme park has topped the ranking.

February 2023

The Europa-Park Resort is delighted to have been named 'Germany's most popular theme park'. Germany's largest theme park achieved the highest score in the F.A.Z. Institute's study on the most popular products and services in 2023.

As part of the study, the F.A.Z. Institute analysed around 12,000 service providers and products by means of mentions and their tone on websites, forums and social media channels, for example. Price-performance ratio, customer satisfaction, quality, service, recommendation and desirability were evaluated. In the category 'Theme Parks', Europa-Park, including the water world Rulantica and the hotel resort, came out on top with the highest score of 100 points and is thus the industry winner 2023.

October 2022

Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, DIE WELT and the Cologne-based consulting and analysis institute ServiceValue have awarded Germany's largest theme park the 'Gold Level' in the 'Service Champions' ranking. With a service experience score of 64.5 percent, Europa-Park is also the industry winner.

The ranking is considered the largest of its kind in Germany and was conducted for the 12th time. Current and former customers are interviewed for the survey. More than 1.9 million reviews of almost 4,700 companies from 398 sectors were evaluated for the ranking.

September 2022

Europa-Park received the best possible result 'excellent' for its service and therefore is the industry leader in the category 'leisure and theme parks'. Regarding service quality, Germany's largest theme park is among the best in the country - this has now been confirmed by Statista and TESTBILD, who conducted the independent study 'Top Service Quality 2022/2023'. More than 20,000 customers have been asked for their opinion about 3,200 companies from 217 industries for the study.

Basis for the study were recommendation levels as well as competence, communication, availability, customer focus and levels of service. The service at the Europa-Park Resort convinved participants on all levels which brought an outstanding result.

The 'Worldofparks-Award', one of the most important audience only awards for leisure venues in Europe, has been taking place on Worldofparks.eu for eleven years.

Category: Europe's Best Theme Park

• This year, Europa-Park was voted second best theme park in Europe.

Category: Best new attraction in a European theme park

• Our majestic boat ride 'Josefina's Magical Imperial Journey' qualified as the second best new attraction in Europe.

Category: Best show in a European theme park

• 'The Return of the Sultan', our new show in the Spanish Arena, managed to secure a third place in this year's voting.

August 2022

The German National Tourist Board (DZT) asks international guests every year about their favourite sights, buildings and places of natural beauty in Germany. Over 15,000 people voted for their favourite in 2020, 2021 and 2022 - and chose Europa-Park, just like in the last years, in 2nd place.

September 2021

For 13 years the 'European Identity and Cloud Awards' have been awarded to companies that have implemented exceptional projects in the area of digital identity and cyber security. Europa-Park has received the prestigious award in Munich on 15. September 2021 in the field of 'Customer Identity and Access Management' for its new and innovative log-in service MackOne. The log-in service allows its users to access a wide range of digital services of the Europa-Park Resort with just one account. 

July 2021

• Category: Best Theme Park in Germany

Around 20,000 readers of the TRAVELBOOK magazine have voted: Europa-Park managed to surpass 9 opponents and has been crowned 'Best Theme Park in Germany' with 42% of all votes. In the poll, people appreciated the more than 100 attractions, the shows as well as the six themed hotels, the Rulantica water world and the hygiene and safety concept, as well as the theming overall.

May 2021

In May 2021, Europa-Park has received the Jobmotor award in the category 'New Employees'. The price is being awarded by IHK Südlicher Oberrhein and the Badische Zeitung newspaper. The Europa-Park Resort has welcomed 750 new employees in over the last two years.

September 2020

On 21. September 2020, Thomas Mack was named 'Most Successful Restaurateur of the Year' as part of the 'FIZZZ Awards 2020'. In their statement, the editors of the industry magazine FIZZZ paid particular tribute to the innovative strength of the managing partner of Europa-Park: "He is a game changer when it comes to park gastronomy and sets a benchmark far beyond Germany's borders."

With this award, the committee rewards the outstanding performance of the qualified hotelier and the high quality in the over 100 Europa-Park restaurants, the water world Rulantica and the six park-owned hotels.

The 'FIZZZ Awards' have been given out for over 20 years, each year recognising the best restaurants in Germany and providing information about the current trends in the industry.

July 2020

Travellers' Choice Award Europa-Park

• In July 2020, the world's largest travel website, TripAdvisor, voted Europa-Park as the 'Most Popular Theme Park in Germany and all of Europe'. Germany's largest theme park therefore defends this prestigious title, which it had already received in the past years. In Europe, Europa-Park receives the bronze medal, and also wins a proud 9th place and therefore makes it among the top ten globally.

January 2020

In January 2020, Europa-Park has received the award for 'Best excursion destination outside the Netherlands' for the second time. Members of the Dutch AA (A.N.W.B.) gave Europa-Park the highest marks out of all excursion destinations in Europe.

January 2019

Since its inception in 2009, the European Festival Awards have been dedicated to recognising and honouring collective achievements in the festival industry.

Category: Best New Festival

• Launched in 2018 at Europa-Park, 'Rolling Stone Park' was honoured with the 'European Festival Award 2018' in January 2019 as the best new festival.

November 2018

The Brass Ring Awards recognise specific areas of the global amusement park industry each year, and are among the most prestigious awards in the industry. At the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando (Florida), Europa-Park received this award in two categories:

• The toy brand Alpha Mods P.D. developed by MackMedia convinced judges in the category 'Best Visual Merchandise'.

Category: Live Entertainment Excellence Spirit Award

• A special honour was due to Ulrich Grawunder, as the former Head of Shows was honoured with the 'Live Entertainment Excellence Spirit Award'.

November 2018

Together with the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg has been awarding the State Seal of Quality for 20 years. This is valid for three years and will only be awarded if strict criteria are met. Europa-Park has been awarded the State Seal of Quality in three categories:

• 'Theme Parks and Pools'
• 'Accommodation outside of distinguished locations'
• 'Restaurants'

October 2018

The HALO Awards are given for particularly creative and innovative AV, VR and MR projects in Europe. At this year's HALO Awards, which were presented at VR Days Europe in Amsterdam, 'Eurosat Coastiality' convinced the jury in the category 'Location-based Entertainment' and was awarded the Silver Award.

November 2016

In 2016, the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) honoured Roland Mack with the highest award that the world association of the leisure industry has to bestow. The founder and owner of Europa-Park will be inducted into the 'Hall of Fame'. Other members include formative faces of the industry, such as Walt Disney.
