Three awards: Europa-Park as ‘Best Theme Park Worldwide’, Voltron Nevera as ‘Best New Rollercoaster Worldwide’ and ‘Turnstile Award’ for the reconstruction of the Austrian themed area
On 7. September 2024, Europa-Park was honoured for the ninth time with the industry's highest accolade, the ‘Golden Ticket Award’, as the 'Best Amusement Park Worldwide'. Germany's largest theme park from 2014 to 2022 once again beat off competition from renowned theme parks such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. In addition, the rollercoaster innovation Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac from MACK Rides was honoured as the ‘Best New Rollercoaster Worldwide’. The jury presented the ‘Turnstile Award’ (Publisher's Pick) for the reconstruction of the Austrian themed area with the ‘Alpine Express Enzian’ and ‘Tirol Log Flume’, which was completed within a year.
The awards from the international trade magazine ‘Amusement Today’ were presented at the American theme park ‘Kennywood’ in Pennsylvania. Despite the strong competition, especially in the USA, the high-calibre jury saw the family-run company from Baden as the winner. They emphasised the large number of high-quality attractions at Europa-Park, which offer a great experience for visitors thanks to the park's top-level operation. The experts were also impressed by the mix of traditional rides and digital content as well as the first-class entertainment, catering and accommodation on offer. The jury was further impressed by the extraordinary commitment to the direct reconstruction of the Austrian themed area with the ‘Magical Valley of Diamonds’.
Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac, which opened at Europa-Park in April, fascinated the jury as the best new rollercoaster in the world. It offers numerous innovative ride elements, such as the world's steepest launch at 105 degrees, as well as fascinating storytelling. The Stryker Coaster was developed by the parent company MACK Rides, which was delighted to receive the ‘Golden Ticket Award’ for the ‘Best New Rollercoaster Worldwide’ for the first time. Numerous trades and business divisions of the entire MACK Group were involved in the realisation of the attraction conceived and designed by MACK One, creating a unique overall experience.
"Being recognised once again as the ‘Best Amusement Park Worldwide' fills me with great pride, especially in the run-up to our 50th anniversary. It shows that our family traditions, our passion for quality and our relentless pursuit of excellence continue to be recognised around the world, even after almost five decades. With gratitude and passion, we will continue to ensure that unforgettable experiences are created at Europa-Park."
Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and CEO of MACK One: "We are also particularly proud of the award for Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac. It emphasises our innovative strength and shows that Europa-Park and MACK Rides are setting standards not only in Germany and Europe, but worldwide."
