Between the Poseidon water coaster and Euro-Mir, the brand-new action-packed rollercoaster Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac is being built!
The new coaster will fascinate with an incomparable overall package of thrills, atmosphere as well as technology and set new standards in rollercoaster construction. Voltron Nevera combines numerous innovative elements: With seven inversions, four launches, 2.2 seconds of continuous weightlessness and the world record with the steepest launch of 105°, an intense and incomparable ride experience that is unique worldwide has been created.
The new rollercoaster is also the first building stage of the 17. European themed area.
When the new coaster opens in the 2024 summer season, a 28-metre-high tower is enthroned above the station - the centrepiece of the experiments of inventor Nikola Tesla, born in what is now Croatia. The tower will catapult you with cosmic energy on the action-packed ride through Croatia.
Europa-Park and Rimac are united by their common vision and passion for innovation, acceleration and perfection. Through this cooperation, Europa-Park, which has won the coveted 'Golden Ticket Award' as 'Best Theme Park Worldwide' eight times in a row, has joined forces with Croatia's most significant company. Mate Rimac, Founder & CEO of Rimac Group as well as CEO of Bugatti Rimac is one of the greatest Croatian inventors of our time. For him, Nikola Tesla is the role model for research in the field of electric motors and batteries in high-performance vehicles and the inspiration for his own work.
Rimac's flagship electric hypercar, the Rimac Nevera, combines performance and cutting-edge technology in an unparalleled way. Designed, engineered, optimised and built by the Rimac team in Croatia, the Nevera has set new standards for the automotive industry.
The name Nevera is derived from the Croatian word for sudden, short storms, usually accompanied by lightning, which occur mainly on the Croatian Adriatic coast.
The Rimac Nevera is considered the fastest electric car in the world and the fastest accelerating production car in the world, holding more than 20 acceleration and braking records. The Voltron Nevera multi-launch coaster will also provide an adrenaline rush of a special kind. Europa-Park's 14th rollercoaster has almost 300 stators that will catapult the trains no less than four times, including once in reverse.
The idea for the partnership came from Miriam Mack - the wife of Europa-Park's Managing Partner Michael Mack. Miriam comes from Croatia, is devoted to her homeland and wants to bring the country and all its fascinating facets closer to the guests of Europa-Park!
The development of the Croatian themed area will follow the completion of Voltron Nevera.
The first construction phase with the rollercoaster and station building covers around 20,000 square metres. The station will be reminiscent of the 'Wardenclyffe Tower' by engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla, who used it to realise his dream of wireless long-distance transmission of electrical energy. Guests will be able to stroll along limestone-paved paths and through narrow alleys while enjoying the typical Croatian atmosphere.
The storytelling for the new themed area was penned by MACK Magic.
From 2024, the legendary Adventure Club of Europe will reveal one of its best-kept secrets: Experience the most visionary and previously unknown invention of the scientist and ACE member Nikola Tesla for yourself!
His device feeds people into cosmic energy and transports them from one place to another in an electrical lightning bolt. Starting in the waiting area of the new attraction, you will be immersed in Tesla's laboratory for cosmic energy in a former hydroelectric power station before the electrifying energy journey begins on the rollercoaster. Witness how Nikola Tesla initiated the electric age and take a look at his captivating story today!
