The Europa-Park Camp Resort has been named TOP Camping Site 2024 by BeyondCamping. BeyondCamping is an independent camping and hiking magazine. More than 150,000 readers per month enjoy the latest discoveries about the most exciting outdoor activities from around the world.

August 2024

Between March and July 2024, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) conducted an online survey of more than 25,000 travellers from over 20 countries to determine the most popular attractions in Germany. The result: Europa-Park achieved an impressive 2nd place. Last year, our theme park made it to the top spot, making it the most popular attraction in Germany.

"We are very grateful that we are held in such high esteem by our visitors in Germany. It is a very big acknowledgement for us, for our attention to detail, for our quality, for innovation and for the high service we provide for our guests. It is the nicest thank you that we get back directly from our guests. Europa-Park as an economic factor reflects on the entire region and the whole of Baden-Württemberg," says Europa-Park owner Roland Mack.

Since 2012, visitors to the GNTB website have been able to name the tourist destinations they consider to be particularly worthy of recommendation. Only international visitors are included in the ranking. The nominations result in a ranking of the top 100.

At the annual meeting of the German hotel industry, Busche Verlag honoured hotel director Michaela Doll-Lämmer with the Schlummer Atlas Award Top 50 Hotelière. It is awarded for a personal entrepreneurial achievement that has a significant influence on the development of the hotel industry and serves to raise the profile of the sector.

The 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår - The Museum-Hotel' is one of the '101 Best Hotels in Switzerland, Austria, South Tyrol and Germany'. 
The leaders in their field were honoured in ten different categories and three special categories. 
With its natural history museum concept and attention to detail, the 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår' scored highly in the 'TROUVAILLEN' category.

May 2024

Freizeit Verlag honoured the best wellness hotels in German-speaking countries in 2024 for the 21st time. The ‘Outstanding Hotelier' Dr.-Ing. h.c. Roland Mack was honoured with the special award for his innovative and technical achievements as a pioneer in the international entertainment and hotel industry. The successful entrepreneur from Baden was the first theme park owner to receive the award for his outstanding work and great commitment to the hotel industry.

November 2023

The Parkscout Audience Award, one of the most important awards in the German theme park industry, set another record this year: Over 60,000 participants cast their votes. The Europa-Park Resort once again scored highly with visitors. 

Category: ‘Most popular themed hotel 2023’

• The Europa-Park Resort once again won an award in this category - and twice over: the two 4* superior themed hotels 'Krønasår' and 'Colosseo' took first and third place. The two hotels were already honoured with the Parkscout Audience Award last year but came in second and third place respectively.

As part of the 26th Busche Gala with the presentation of the renowned Schlemmer and Schlummer Atlas Awards, Thomas Mack was honored as Pioneer of the Year. Since 1998, the awards presented by the editors have honoured personalities and companies that have made a pioneering contribution to the world of hospitality.

The Schlemmer Atlas editorial team describes Eatrenalin as "one of the most exciting gastronomic experiences in the world" and continues: "Thomas Mack, you are a true trendsetter, thought leader and set standards as a host and entrepreneur!

For the twelfth time, the industry 'Tophotel Newcomer Award' was presented to the most outstanding new openings of the past year on 10. July 2023. The restaurant world first Eatrenalin of the Europa-Park Resort was awarded the 'Special Prize for Experiential Gastronomy' in the category Hotel Gastronomy Private to honour the uniqueness of the concept.

Upscale gastronomy, the technical finesse of the 'floating chair' and multimedia content come together in Eatrenalin in a way that is unrivalled in the DACH region. According to the jury, the Managing Partner of Europa-Park, Thomas Mack, and the gastronomy expert Oliver Altherr, CEO of Marché International, have undoubtedly succeeded in creating a special innovation. From the professional guest journey at the beginning of the booking, an overwhelming multi-sensory experience with an outstanding eight-course menu to the sophisticated automated processes - the novel gastronomy experience Eatrenalin convinced the jury in many respects.

July 2023

Champagne Laurent-Perrier presented the Hornstein Ranking 2023 on 03. July, honouring the best chefs from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol at the Europa-Park Resort. The 'Ammolite - The Lighthouse Restaurant', located in the lighthouse of the 4* superior hotel 'Bell Rock' under the management of Peter Hagen-Wiest, achieved 33rd place among the best restaurants in Germany with 90.5 points and two crowns.

The results of the Hornstein Ranking are based on the evaluation of current ratings of the market-leading restaurant guides, which are summarised in line with their evaluation criteria and broken down according to a 100-point system. To this extent, this Hornstein ranking is a calculated and uncommented cross-section of the relevant restaurant ratings in German-language publications.

June 2023

Booking.com, one of the world's largest digital travel platforms, has presented the coveted 'Traveller Review Awards 2023'. At the annual awards ceremony, the well-known internet portal honoured, among others, the most hospitable cities in the world as well as the most hospitable cities and regions in Germany.

Looking at Germany, the municipality of Rust with Germany's largest theme park landed on the winner's podium. The destinations were awarded for their outstanding hospitality. The ranking was based on more than 240 million verified reviews from real Booking.com travellers.

June 2023

The exemplary eco-balance of the Europa-Park hotels was recognised with the 'DEHOGA Environmental Check'. The six 4* (superior) hotels all received the gold rating.

The 'DEHOGA Environmental Check' is aimed at hotel and restaurant businesses; participation is voluntary. It is the continuation of the 'Energy Campaign for the Hospitality Industry' launched together with the Federal Ministry for the Environment in 2006. The certification is based on the evaluation of selected environmental indicators. The catalogue of criteria includes energy, water and waste production as well as food (e.g. regional, fair trade, organic).

June 2023

For the 15th time, German publishing company Freizeit Verlag awarded the best family hotels in German-speaking countries with the prestigious Family Cup. The renowned award is offered by the travel portal meintophotel.de and the new 'Mein Tophotel' hotel guide 2023.

The 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår - The Museum-Hotel' was able to assert itself against its fellow nominated hotels and won the prize in the category 'Logis'. According to the judgement of the expert jury, the themed hotel sets standards in this category: The décor represents in every respect the concept of a natural history museum in every setting.

April 2023

On 04. April, the renowned star award ceremony of the Guide MICHELIN Germany 2023 took place in Karlsruhe, where this year's selection of the best restaurants was announced. The restaurant selection once again confirms the diverse range and the unchanged high level of German gastronomy. In a festive setting, the 'Ammolite - The Lighthouse Restaurant' of the Europa-Park Resort, located in the lighthouse of the 4* superior hotel 'Bell Rock', was awarded two Michelin stars for the ninth time in a row.

Chef Peter Hagen-Wiest and his team have once again proven the level of the versatile inspired cuisine. With their unique concept at the highest level, the gastronomic team stands for exquisite cuisine far beyond the borders of the region. The fine dining restaurant can thus continue to count itself among the top gastronomic scene in Germany and is one of the ten 2* restaurants in Baden-Württemberg.

April 2023

The 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår' was awarded the Clean Sleeping Award for exemplary bed hygiene. The basis for this award is the HOTEL-BETTEN-TEST (hotel bed test), awarded by 'Schlafen Spezial'.

November 2022

The Parkscout plus Award has been presented by the specialist magazine ‘parkscout’ since 2017. The leading companies in the leisure industry in Europe are awarded prizes in a total of 15 categories.

Marco Gerlach, sommelier and Head of Restaurant at the 'Ammolite - The Lighthouse Restaurant', has been selected as one of the '50 Best Sommeliers' at the Rolling Pin-Awards.

The Rolling Pin-Awards are considered one of the largest, most important and desirable Awards in the Gastronomy and Hospitality industry.

September 2022

The Schlemmer Atlas editorial team has given the sommeliers Marco Gerlach and Vincenzo de Biase the 'TOP50 Sommelier' award at the 'Schlemmer Atlas Industry Awards TOP50 Sommeliers Germany'. While Marco Gerlach, Sommelier and Head of Restaurant' at the Ammolite restaurant, has been honoured in the Gourmet category, Vincenzo de Biase, Head Sommelier at the Europa-Park Hotel Resort and responsible for buying wine, was awarded in the Gastronomy category.

This award is considered one of the highest distinctions for outstanding efforts in the wine industry and is awarded und consideration of aspects such as role model, team and innovation, responsibility and regional impact.

2012 - 2022

Each year since 2002, TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel website, presents the Travellers' Choice Awards for the most popular hotels and theme parks.

October 2024

Family Holidays with the Quality Seal! Europa-Park, the Rulantica water world and the six 4* themed hotels have been recognised in the state-wide competition 'familien-ferien' (family holidays). The competition is run by the Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg together with the German Hotel and Gastronomy Association (DEHOGA) Baden-Württemberg.

August 2022

The German National Tourist Board (DZT) asks international guests every year about their favourite sights, buildings and places of natural beauty in Germany. Over 15,000 people voted for their favourite in 2020, 2021 and 2022 - and chose Europa-Park, just like in the last years, in 2nd place.

February 2021

With the highest possible mark, 5 out of 5 stars, the business magazine 'Capital' in cooperation with data and analysis institute 'Statistica' has distinguished the themed hotels of Europa-Park. More than 3,200 industry experts in management rolls have been polled for the study. Central aspects of the study were the areas of Product and service, Processes and Company culture.

Solar modules, thermal power stations, air water heat pumps and water saving fittings - these innovative technologies actively help to reduce the CO2 emission of the themed hotels. On top of that, guests can use digital technologies in the form of the Europa-Park Hotels app to make their stay even more convenient by booking, for example, a table in one of the restaurants or a wellness treatment with their smartphone.

2018 - 2025

The DEHOGA Environment Check is a trademark for committed  protection of the environment in the hospitality industry and awards companies combining ecology and economy. The Europa-Park hotels have been awarded Gold status, the highest level.

2010 - 2027

For exceptional comfort and service in the wellness area, the Europa-Park hotels have been awarded five out of five stars during the certification by the Wellness Start Germany GmbH.

2008 - 2023

At the beginning of 2023, the travel website meintophotel.de hosted the 'Family Cup' awards  the best family hotels in the German speaking area for the 15th time. The expert jury which chooses the winners in five categories, is made up of editor in chief of trade magazine 'Tophotel', experienced industry journalists and experts.

Category: Rooms

• The 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår – The Museum-Hotel' prevailed in the 'Rooms' category and received the 'Family Cup 2023'.

In the years 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013-2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020, one of the Europa-Park hotels also secured a 1. or 2. place in the TopHotel Family Cup; among them the 2018 victory for the 4* superior hotel 'Bell Rock' in the 'Rooms' category. 

September 2020

On 21. September 2020, Thomas Mack was named 'Most Successful Restaurateur of the Year' as part of the 'FIZZZ Awards 2020'. In their statement, the editors of the industry magazine FIZZZ paid particular tribute to the innovative strength of the managing partner of Europa-Park: "He is a game changer when it comes to park gastronomy and sets a benchmark far beyond Germany's borders."

With this award, the committee rewards the outstanding performance of the qualified hotelier and the high quality in the over 100 Europa-Park restaurants, the water world Rulantica and the six park-owned hotels.

The 'FIZZZ Awards' have been given out for over 20 years, each year recognising the best restaurants in Germany and providing information about the current trends in the industry.

February 2020

Thomas, Michael and Ann-Kathrin Mack, co-partners of Europa-Park in Rust, have been awarded the renowned industry award 'Hotelier of the Year', on 3rd February 2020 in Berlin.

Thomas, Michael and Ann-Kathrin are the eighth generation of entrepreneurial family Mack and are responsible for the largest expansion in the 240-year long company history: The museum hotel 'Krønasår' and the water world Rulantica. The resort extension with an investment of approx. 200 million Euros has been completed on schedule last year and has led Europa-Park into a new era.

Chairman of the jury, Rolf Westermann, editor in chief of ahgz magazine, constituted the decision: 'The eighth generation of the Mack family has set the course for the next decades by investing around 200 million Euros. It requires vision and bravery to take that kind of entrepreneurial risk'.

2000

In 2000, Roland Mack, co-owner of Europa-Park in Rust, has been awarded the prestigious 'Hotelier of the Year' industry award in Berlin.

January 2020

In January 2020, Europa-Park has received the award for 'Best excursion destination outside the Netherlands' for the second time. Members of the Dutch AA (A.N.W.B.) gave Europa-Park the highest marks out of all excursion destinations in Europe.

November 2018

Together with the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg has been awarding the State Seal of Quality for 20 years. This is valid for three years and will only be awarded if strict criteria are met. Europa-Park has been awarded the State Seal of Quality in three categories:
