October 2025

Rulantica was honoured with the EWA Professional Award for innovative product design. With the new, spacious outdoor pool Svømmepøl, the outdoor area was expanded to 26,000 square metres, significantly increasing Rulantica's capacity. With its Nordic volcanic landscape theme, the new pool and its surrounding lounge areas blend harmoniously into the overall concept of Rulantica.

The trade journal ‘Parkscout plus’ has named the Rulantica Water World ‘Europe's Best Water Park’ for the fifth time in a row. In 2023, the newly opened 'Vikingløp', Europe's largest speed slide, was honoured with the title ‘Germany's Best New Water Slide’.

While Europa-Park secured the title of ‘Best Theme Park Worldwide’ for the tenth time at the prestigious Golden Ticket Awards, the Rulantica water world was also honoured. The jury ranked Rulantica fourth out of thousands of water parks worldwide.

The 14th European Star Award is considered one of the most important awards for theme and water parks in Europe. The most breathtaking new attractions, as well as the most spectacular rollercoasters and water slides, were honoured. Rulantica once again took second place in the popular award in the category ‘Europe's Best Water Park’.

Family Holidays with the Quality Seal! Europa-Park, the Rulantica water world and the six 4* themed hotels have been recognised in the state-wide competition 'familien-ferien' (family holidays). The competition is run by the Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg together with the German Hotel and Gastronomy Association (DEHOGA) Baden-Württemberg.

The Parkscout Audience Award, one of the most important awards in the German theme park industry, set another record this year: Over 60,000 participants cast their votes this year.

• This year, the Rulantica Water World once again scored highly with visitors, winning the award for most popular water park for the second time in a row.

At the 'Park World Excellence Award' of the British trade magazine Park World, Rulantica emerged as 'Best Water Park' and 'Vikingløp' was awarded 'Best Water Park Experience'.

May 2023

In a special programme on the topic of summer holidays, German TV show 'stern TV' tested the three most popular fun pools in Germany. Rulantica was convincing all along the line and won the Golden 'stern TV Rubber Duck' award.

Particular praise was given to the loving and unique Nordic theming and the varied water attractions in Rulantica. The test family rewarded this with the highest score in the holiday feeling category. The water world also convinced in the categories fun factor and value for money.

The Parkscout plus Award has been presented by the specialist magazine ‘parkscout’ since 2017. The leading companies in the leisure industry in Europe are awarded prizes in a total of 15 categories.

The European Waterpark Association e.V. is using this year's anniversary as an opportunity to honour the Rulantica water world as an exceptional project with the one-time only ‘EWA Jubilee Award 2022’. The award honours the entrepreneurial courage of the Mack family on the one hand, and the innovative strength of the water world on the other.

Rulantica sets new standards as Europe's largest completely themed indoor and outdoor water park. Particularly impressive: in a uniquely consequent implementation, a story serves as the basis for the entire design of the water world. Its realisation is a milestone in the development of the European water park landscape.

Since the opening in November 2019, the master plan has been stringently implemented and the water world has been gradually expanded with new attractions, including Tønnevirvel by MACK Rides, which opened in summer 2022. This is the company's first ride developed specifically for water parks.

The Golden Wave Awards 2022 by trade magazine SCHIMMBAD+SAUNA crown the best innovations in the industry and award outstanding projects.

At the awards of the British trade publication 'Park World', the best operators, suppliers, manufacturers and entertainment specialists from all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa are being distinguished.

• The themed setting Vinterhal has further been awarded the title Best Water Park Experience in 2020.

The World Waterpark Association (WWA) honours particularly innovative and creative projects in the industry with its annual Leading Edge Award.
After the whole Rulantica water world and the companies that were involved from Germany, Great Britain, the USA and Canada already received the 'Leading Edge Award' 2020, the outdoor area with the Nordic World of Slides was also awarded the coveted prize in October 2021.

• Category: European Park of the Year

The online magazine Parksmania has awarded the internationally recognised 'Parksmania Award' to European theme parks which have distinguished themselves through special initiative in the theme park and entertainment sector annually since 2001.
In October 2021, the Rulantica water world has been crowned as the winner in the 'European Park of the Year' category at Movieland Park in Verona. The jury stated the innovative new attractions Svalgurok, Snorri Strand and Snorri Snorkling VR among the reasons for their verdict.

The BlooLoop Innovation Awards celebrate new and innovative products and services worldwide in the theme park industry. From the development of new rides, attractions and technology, to ground-breaking advancements in the areas sustainability and marketing. The new outdoor area Svalgurok won the 1st prize in the 'Splash' category.
